The ingredients

0

The term “ingredients” means all those substances present within a food.

It is ‘important the label of a product are indicated all the ingredients used. Also the way in which they are listed within this label is not absolutely random in fact the first of the list is the most present, while the last is less present. Typically the first three ingredients indicated are the most important, so, if at  the first places we find low-quality ingredients, that means the whole product is of poor quality. Glancing at the list of ingredients we can carefully evaluate what we are eating and the information concerns both the quantity of each ingredient is the quality of the product in general making the case to the type of fat used or the presence of preservatives.

It certainly happened, checking (always check the deadlines, it is very important!) the deadline, to notice that can be written:

1) Use by

or

2) Best before

What changes?

Use by: When you read the label of a food, particular care should be taken to the timing and mode of consumption. Of course we must keep the product properly. For example, if the package is reported that the food after opening should be stored in the refrigerator, we can not leave it the sun and pretend to eat it as indicated by the deadline.

Best before: This heading shows that even after the deadline the product is not a risk for the health of the consumer: at most, it will have lost its nutritional value or something in terms of fragrance or consistency.

Nutritional table and the information on the labels

No url

It’s easy to see if a product is of quality because it contains just a few simple ingredients. If while you are reading the list of ingredients or nutritional table  there are more unknowns names than known names,  it means that the product actually contains more replacement or additional elements than “natural” ingredients.

This table on product packaging was optional except for foods that own or, otherwise, reported to specific nutrition.

Today with the new Regulation is fixed for all pre-packaged products the obligation to indicate the nutritional label (except for products such as water, salt, coffee, etc.).

An important information the nutritional table can give is the amount of saturated fat compared to the total fat: if more than half of these fats are saturated indexes that were used low quality fats.

To get closer to the concept of quality of food, it is useful to be able to understand the labels on food packaging, and related information.

The labels on the packaging must bear in fact all the information on food contained in: some are obligatory, as the list of ingredients which must always be present, while others are regarded as incidental.
