The research has not yet been able to develop an effective vaccine against syphilis. The only way to avoid to contract this bacteria is to have safe sex using condom, whether genital, anal or oral. If you have doubt about the possibility to have contracted the syphilis bacterium, you have to go as soon as possible in a specialized center and with a simple blood test you will know if you are infected and how long.
