What is hepatitis?

0

Hepatitis is an inflammation caused by some viruses that affect the liver cells. Sometimes viral hepatitis doesn’t heal and can become chronic, creating serious problems to the liver function. This inflammation is caused by different viruses that cause various forms of disease. The most widespread hepatitis are caused by three viruses: A virus (HAV), hepatitis B virus (HBV) and C virus (HCV).

There’re different possibilities for transmission: the contagion of hepatitis A occurs mainly via faeces. Hepatitis B and C are transmitted through direct contact of blood with infected people. Remember that unprotected sex with persons infected by hepatitis leads to high possibility of contagion.
